Paula Arvas is lecturer in Finnish literature at the University of Helsinki, where she teaches courses on crime fiction and other popular fiction. Her most recent book is Rauta ja Ristilukki: Vilho Helasen salapoliisiromaanit, which analyzes 1940s Finnish crime fiction.
