Matt Grossmann

Matt Grossmann is director of the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research and professor of political science at Michigan State University, where he oversees candidate and policymaker training, polling, and policy analysis. He is also senior fellow at the Niskanen Center, where he hosts the Science of Politics podcast. His previous books include Polarized by Degrees, Asymmetric Politics (both with David A. Hopkins), Artists of the Possible, Red State Blues, The Not-So-Special Interests, and How Social Science Got Better. He has published analyses in twenty-four academic journals, as well as The New York Times and The Washington Post. He co-owns Hooked, an independent bookstore, café, and bar in Lansing, Michigan.
