Paul Hecht

Paul Hecht (1927-1996) was born in Brooklyn. He first moved to southern Spain in the 1950s where he was introduced to flamenco music. He befriended many singers and guitarists and wrote of their unique lives in The Wind Cried: An American’s Discovery of the World of Flamenco. His novel The Storyteller appeared posthumously in Spanish translation as El cuentista.
