Beyond the Solid

Sculpture Today

Beyond the Solid is the accompanying publication to an exhibition presented at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

The book takes the form of an album based on original visual essays centering on the creative processes behind the works in the exhibition, which themselves are dedicated to contemporary sculptural practices that expand the boundaries of the medium. The publication develops the exhibition narrative, shifting focus from the finished object to relationships between material, body, movement, and architecture. It documents sculpture as a process-oriented, situational, and non-hierarchical practice, operating within tensions between durability and fragility, stability and transformation. Contributing artists include June Crespo, Dominique White, Gizela Mickiewicz, Iza Tarasewicz, Giulia Cenci, Edith Karlson, and Dominika Olszowy.
