Jan Koblasa has ranked among the leading figures of Czech and European art since the1960s. His sculptures have been integrated into many European cities, sacred spaces, and sculptors’ parks. But sculpture is only one of the areas in which Koblasa has achieved renown: he is also acclaimed for his accomplishments in stage design and decoration, book illustrations, and graphic art.
This volume presents graphics that Koblasa created using various intaglio print techniques, including drypoint, etching, etching and aquatint, and multicolor etching. These beautiful full-page reproductions are accompanied by an introductory essay on the artist’s work and career, descriptions of the various graphic cycles, and a bibliography. All text is in both Czech and English.
